Jack and the Beanstalk may be a fairy tale but it would not be stretch the imagination to say there remains hope in all of us of discovering a way to turn a simple planted seed into dramatic and unlimited growth without requiring us to devote all of our energy and resources.

Perhaps Amazon Web Services (AWS) understands this as well and that is why AWS Elastic Beanstalk is an apt name for a service that represents a simple way to deploy to the cloud and be able to take advantage of the functionality of the more than 100 available AWS services, without requiring the intricate knowledge of figuring out which of the services to use and how to provision them.

In a broad sense, that means Elastic Beanstalk reduces management complexity without restricting choice or control. You simply upload your application, and Elastic Beanstalk automatically handles the details of capacity provisioning, load balancing, scaling, and application health monitoring.

For System Engineers it means having the tools to dramatically reduce the time to build websites and APIs. For Programmers it means that as long as the code is uploaded, you can deploy a highly available environment.
